Hey folks,
Just wondering about day rates for Hotels near LAX (early May). My flight out isn't until close to midnight so prefer something up until 7/8pm.
Cheers and thanks.

Good luck with 'day rates' around LAX - they don't really seem to exist in hotel vocabulary, these days.
If you're looking for something comfortable, modern, close to LAX and reasonably priced, consider the Wingate by Wyndham Hotels on Portal Av & W Arbor Vitae St (commonly referred to as S. La Cienega Blvd / W Arbor Vitae).
It is approx 5 mins from T-BIT and provides a free SHUTTLE service between LAX and the property. Current sample rate for checkin Wed 11th May and checkout Thu 12th May 2016 is sitting at AUD $ 224 (yes, Australian $ - and it is normally AUD $310) via expedia.com.au - its a 4 star with an 89% recommended level. Rate includes breakfast, which might give you some bargaining power, since you won't be there for it.
Have stayed there personally (similar circumstances) within the past 6 months. It's about the closest you'll get to LAX and has great doubleglazing throughout the property, so its quiet. There's a business centre, free wi-fi throughout the property, an onsite gym with modern equipment. Has 148 rooms and a 24 hr Reception. Only drawback is that there is no pool. Very high level of cleanliness.

Travelodge, they pickup and drop back to the airport, I think it cost me about $60 or similar last year. Well worth it and there is a Dennys on site too.

The Hilton LAX often has decent day rates (9am-6pm), just select the same check-in and check-out date to see what's available. Book an Executive room and you'd also get breakfast in the lounge if you arrive early enough. :) Free shuttle to/from terminals too.
