I am Air NZ Gold Elite and QF Gold, anyone know if there is any status match offering ATM to give me equivalent status with a Sky team Airline?

I am Air NZ Gold Elite and QF Gold, anyone know if there is any status match offering ATM to give me equivalent status with a Sky team Airline? I am travelling to US later in year and it is likely I will be flying Delta in Y and would like to be able to get lounge access if possible. Thanks!

Only chance is IF you can figure out how to get VA Gold or Platinum.   Call them up. Are you travelling there with VA?  If so then call them, if not, ask yourself what would you do in their position.  They only have these things because they lead to new business.

Thanks - no not travelling with VA hence i didnt think it was an option to request match. I know its a long shot but i thought somone might know of a promo somewhere that i could take advantage of.

Alitalia had a status match deal late last year which we covered but which has now ended.

You have other options, though - if you have the right AMEX card you could use the AMEX lounge in Sydney before your flight out. You could also pay to use the SkyTeam lounge in Sydney and then pay to use the Delta Sky Club at LAX if so inclined. :)

Thanks all! Especially kimshep. We will be departing AKL and likely to be on NZ to and from US but the places we are travelling to inside US are big Delta hubs so they are most convenient and best priced for internal flights. Hopefully the match will work! 

Dont forget that if you are travelling entirely inside the US then regardless of whether you have Delta status or Skyteam status you are not allowed lounge access. 

If you were travelling on AA or United then you would have lounge access as you are Oneworld Sapphire/ Star Alliance Gold
