Has anyone heard anything further about JAL or ANA commencing direct PER to Tokyo flights, as was muted late last year?

They're also thinking about MEL. But they would need to wait for new aircraft to open more new routes. JAL may still have limits placed on it due to the government bailout they got a few years ago and they would likely want to open new AU routes from HND if possible. They need to wait for new AU HND slots to be assigned.

A 10pm MEL-HND 787 daily flight would be absolutely perfect.

Not a fan of the midnight JQ MEL-NRT flight?
A MEL-HND flight departing MEL at 10pm would arrive at HND just after 6am. Would be cutting it very close with the HND overnight slot cut off. Would work better with a day slot.
