If you have an award ticket ex Europe on CX in F to HKG, then connecting in C to Australia on the same ticket, are you allowed to use the CX First Class lounge in HKG during your same day transit..? Taking into consideration that CX don't offer F to Australia.

I believe you can use the First lounges at HKG based on the following, from the Oneworld website:

I am afraid that I have to disagree. As the second flight is longer than 5 hours it does not fall within the international short haul category and is therefore outside of this provision. Access to the lounge will be assessed on the basis of the second flight or any relevant FF membership tier. However Alkaff, never say never so it is worth trying but I have seen more than one person turned back at the Wing First Class lounge in your position.

Fair enough. I guess the operative word is "short" and not "shorter".
Though it does seem contradictory to the spirit of the policy, which I presume was designed specifically to retain the First class experience in a hub-spoke setting.

I don't believe it is 'contradictory' at all, TRB.
Have a look at this article (published only a couple of days ago:
http://www.ausbt.com.au/why-you-might-not-be-allowed-into-that-oneworld-arrivals-lounge
The article clearly points out that "Arrivals lounges don't fall within the usual Oneworld access rules" and that there are differences in the way individual oneworld carriers institute them
It also clearly shows that CX provide access to their Arrivals Lounge in HKG for First, Business and appropriately tiered oneworld members. So, Alkaff would have access to the ex-Europe lounge at departure and the Arrivals lounge in HKG which matches the award sector he is travelling on.
However, hoping to get into the Pier First Class Lounge is not gonna happen IMO. Sure, the CX Business lounge will be appropriately offered, as it should be.
But hoping to slide the benefits from one sector to another? Nup, not as far as CX is concerned.

Thanks to the above people for providing your feedback. In parallel I called the CX Frankfurt office who advised me that as the ticket counts as F (longer leg flown in F between FRA - HKG) and as CX don't offer F to Australia I would be allowed to use the F Lounge in HKG during the same day transit. Knowing how dodgy the lounge staff can be I will get this in writing from the office and see how the lounge staff react.
