Hi Lafleche, i am based in Canada and flown both the old and new configuration and seats many times both internally and to Australia. The new exec pods are significantlty better. Window seats are angled toward the windows which is a plus, the TV screen is larger and clearer with a handy hand held contoller and they seem more comfortable with better padding than the older seats.
There are couple of negatives, when in bed mode the foot space is very cramped and the massage function is hit and miss.
One thing that has not changed is Air Canada service which is still below par compared to other airlines.

thanks Chinabound. AC service is terrible, so will give them a miss and either go via US or take the long way round heading east.
