I've been a Rydges Priority member for some time now, but ha

I've been a Rydges Priority member for some time now, but have only just booked as a guest under the Global Hotel Alliance “Discovery” program for the first time, and am recognised as the Equivalent as their “Black” tier.  Has anyone had any past experience with hotel recognition in this program?  Double room upgrades,  in room gifts, free local experiences, early check-in 9am, late check-out 6pm?

I have been a member of this programme for some time but never seem to receive any recognition or rewards. Their programme is not as generous as others. Consequently, I don't treat it seriously or bother too much about it. Instead, when booking Rydges, I tend to go through Hotels.com. where the rewards are better.

Have previously been a PGR (Discovery Black) member and recall good treatment at Parkroyal hotels including a 6pm check-out and a welcome amenity of some kind, but it's been a while!

I'm Rydges Gold and I've got to say I've actually been pretty impressed with their perks as an entry level status. I've mostly used it at QT Port Douglas and QT Canberra and on both occasions found it surprisingly generous. Then again, I've not got status with any other programs either, so I may be easy to impress with goodies like a welcome drink.

I have been Priority Black with Rydges for a few years now - it seems to make more of a difference when I stay at Rydges properties and I get the royal treatment a couple of NZ properties where they know me by name - I have not experienced the same level of service from the other brands in the program and I am curious how the generous rewards and free nights are in the programme properties outside NZ and Australia in the wider GHA program. Has anybody had any luck with locating free reward nights etc...??
