First it was sponsoring prizes, now a paid for article. Are they having trouble filling this cabin ex AU? I know the PY fares ex SIN is very good value from a TP perspective. I've never been able to justify PY fares ex AU.

Or the prizes and the article were agreed together.

Considering price structure PY has heftiest margin, so airlines very keen to fill it up. From passenger POV it poorest value, so they may have troubles to fill it – hence aggressive propaganda.

They are doing a push on all classes at the moment. If you look at fares between now and early Dec you can get for $640 one way from Melbourme to Londonin Economy.

Interesting...just trying to see the big picture.
Past couple of times, flew BA ex AU the plane was full, even in PY.
Looking at the loads on Expertflyer, BA 15/16 looks pretty full most of the time.
Surprised by this hard sell tactic.

PY is premium economy, known as World Traveller Plus in BA parlance.

Thanks!
Shame there is no PY from any airline out of PER except CX...
SQ should really do PY from PER as then any other route has PY from SIN!!

A mixed Y & PY from PER via SIN to Europe with SQ, LH or BA can be a good compromise. Often much cheaper than CX PY.

I'll be trying BA's Premium Economt next week, CX to HKG on A330 then BA to LHR on the A380. Not expecting it to match Qantas but it was a much cheaper fare.

We flew on PY on BA last year. Their booking system is unique as it brings up QF & CX flights to connect to. Product was ok, the IFE did drop out a few times and had to be rebooted - but the fare was quite good for a Xmas flight to BKK. We booked PY over (MEL-SYD-SIN-BKK-SIN-SYD-MEL with J class on CX-BA-QF coming home. There was a glitch at SIN when we were all notified that the BA16 flight was cancelled for 24hrs - so we got onto SQ SIN-SYD then QF to MEL. When we were put onto the SQ J flight coming home - we had to wait at SYD (30 mins) to get rebooked onto the MEL leg (technical rebooking issue with BA&QF). The beauty of it all - we got status credits for the flights coming home (gave out velocity memberships at Changi) - BUT ALSO - status credits and points (Booked with QF memberships) for a flight that never flew and earnt QF credits. Not sure how it all happened - but was happy to get dual sets of points with Velocity & Qantas points.

It is not 100% true – their J is marvel …… as long as you able to select proper seat. Unlike almost all other airlines in BA “oils ain’t oils” so to say and poor seat selection errr…, yes makes whole experience sucks.
