According to Boeing it is 7635 nmi, while 747-400ER is 7670nmi, A380 is 8100 nmi (or more depending on version), A350-900 is also 8100 nmi.  These published numbers are at odds with the suggested routes that QF could operate with the 787-9, that are longer than DFW-SYD.  Interested if the is a reason for the apparently low range number for 787-9.

The maximum range given by the manufacturers is much different to the maximum range for each airline, calculated once you know which seats you're having, how you're configuring the aircraft, the weight of all of the passengers, their baggage and a belly full of cargo.

Then you have to factor in winds, routing, ETOPS, alternate airports, etc.

Range isn't just a simple matter of aaa-bbb is x distance apart.

Please note that 'NMI' represents 'Nautical Miles'. There is a distinct difference between 'nautical miles' and miles. The conversion rate is:

1 Mile = 0.86897624 Nautical Miles

1 Nautical Mile = 1.15077945 Miles
