I think more Chinese routes, perhaps EVA Air will make a return. I'd like to see a Oneworld airline pick up Auckland - Japan. Garuda expressed interest a few years ago for flights to Indonesia but they never eventuated
What's with all of the crystal ball questions posted here lately?
As the saying goes, what you don't know you make up.
For example, I reckon it's likely that Virgin Galactic will launch non-stop flights from Auckland to the moon in 2017 and will codeshare with Virgin Australia. That's of course based on having no knowledge of what airlines are planning when they haven't even announced it yet, which is pretty much going to be the same scenario for all of the predictions posted here.
My prediction will probably turn out wrong, but because I just made it up and based it on having no real facts or insights, it's all good. There's always Mars for 2018...

Damnit, that was supposed to be our big scoop story for this arvo – somebody must have leaked it! :P
ACT government is pushing for a Canberra-Auckland link with Air New Zealand which I'm looking forward to as it will probably mean one-stop connections to a variety of American destinations. However I think Air NZ will be watching Singapore's SIN-CBR-WEL very closely before they make any moves. Fingers crossed.

Mileage earn in J will be terrible. Better to credit to Galaxypoints then transfer them to SQ; can still burn on VA or any *A partner.

I know they are trying to get up regular services to Townsville and also Sunshine Coast but they would both be LCC I would imagine.
