Hello all. I am QF Plat flying in business on QF10 from LHR to MEL. Using Expert Flyer, I can see that business is relatively empty from LHR-DXB, but full from DXB-MEL. The QF site only allows me to select one seat for the entire journal from LHR-MEL. I would like a different seat from LHR-DXB to DXB-MEL. It is possible to ask for different seats on the different legs at airline check-in? Or can the (usually very helpful) telephone service agents do it for you? Many thanks.
If you are booked the whole trip on 1 ticket they will issue you with the same seat for the whole trip. It is very rare that they will give you 2 different seats for the 2 flights as it comes under the same flight number. But thats not to say give it a go and see if they will issue you different seats on each flight. I would ring them vs ask at checkin.
They may well oblige if you call them. The representatives manning the premium number usually have a bit of discretion in my experience. No harm in asking...
I fly LHR-SYD/MEL (in Economy) regularly and always choose a seat online but ask at checkin if there are empty rows they can move me to. I frequently have different seats for the LHR-DXB/DXB-SYD legs, they just issue 2 boarding passes. Maybe a different case in J.
