Most credit cards now seem to limit earning Qantas FF points when making payments to the ATO via credirt card.

Hi - unfortunately most credit card providers now do not allow point accumulation on government spend (ATO & other similar agencies), EXCEPT for the AMEX business platinum card which allows 50% point accumulation - which then you can convert as a 1:1 on to your preferred loyalty program (of which AMEX is a part of naturally). The downside of that however is the hefty yearly fee to have the AMEX and the well known fact that certain merchants do not accept the card. But if you are willing to overlook these issues then i certainly think the value of the card outweights the yearly costs. Hope this helps
PS - i am not an AMEX employee/CEO etc neither do i receive a commission from them ;)

The are other AMEX cards as well e.g. the Qantas AMEX Premium which has direct QFF earnings. But also only .5 QFF points per $ with the ATO. The fee of $249 is less than the AMEX business platinum which looks to be $1500. Possibly other AMEX cards will also provide ATP points

Qantas Amex Discovery card - fee-free. 1 QFF point per $1 on ATO. Uncapped. Just have to work out whether the 1.45% card fee is worth it.

Qudos Bank (Qantas CU) have emailed notification that as of Dec 2016 ATO payments no longer eligible for QF points on their plat VISA. ATO payment points eligibility is looking like it has finally dried up! Help.

I PAYG via ATO website each month with AMEX of $4,000 and it 'costs' $58 for the AMEX fee (which itself is then tax deductable). Receiving 4,000 Q FF points for $58 seems like an OK deal I'm thinking.

I'll putting my last Jetstar MasterCard payment through before 28th and, AFAIK, that's it for Qantas points.
A certain Banking Corporation from eastern China might still provide points though the earn rate drops to 0.5pts/$ at $2,500 (Please confirm yourself before committing to this).
Other than that there is the supermarket VISA gift card route but that is limited by card fees and small denominations.
Any other suggestions welcome.

Just to flag, this bonus is available to selected customers only (it's a targeted offer), and the earn rate on ATO payments via the Earth Black AMEX is 0.75 Qantas Points per $1, not the full 1.5. :)

I think this caper is done. In the last year I have gotten FF points on the following cards
HSBC
Macquarie Platinum
Qudos
Jetstar
All have now capped, cut, or dropped the points on ATO payments. So I am shutting down the cards. Its a real shame I have some big bills coming up. Any helpful hints appreciated

Correcting myself. Just tested HSBC - no go. They used to offer points BPay and ATO but tested the BPay and it now zero points. Assuming ATO have gone the same way. Might have to neg my own comment :)
