Hello all. I was wanting some advice from people who have
used Munich airport lately. I am flying in on Air-Berlin from Berlin in
business and will fly out on the Emirates A380 in First (Qantas codeshare) to Dubai. I
am QF Plat. Does Munich have a fast-track lane for immigration/security for
outgoing passengers? What was your experience of the terminal at Munich? Many
thanks.
My experiences will be a little different to yours being on different airlines â I've arrived into Munich on Etihad (from Abu Dhabi) and departed on Airberlin (to Hamburg).
On arrival in Munich, there were automated gates for EU passport holders, but only two desks open for all other passport holders (which seemed to be most of the flight). A group of us had a tight connection and so Etihad was able to assist with a 'meet and greet' person to whisk us through, otherwise it seemed like we'd have been stuck there for an hour. No priority lanes for business class or high status.
On departure, there was a priority security screening lane for Airberlin business class along with Oneworld Sapphire (QF Gold) and above, but this may have been in a different part of the airport to where Emirates departs from. But, if the service was available there, it's likely that a similar service is available to passengers of other airlines.
