From 5 December 2016, Velocity Frequent Flyer will no longer offer the Any Seat Any Airline benefit where members can redeem their Points for travel on airlines that are not Velocity partners.
Any existing bookings will continue to be serviced by Virgin Australia Holidays however the last date to make an Any Seat Any Airline booking is 04 December 2016.
I've been stashing my points to use them for flights from Brisbane - Singapore next year.
I think you will be fine, it's the more expensive option that's been removed. The usual rewards flights will be still be on offer but which availabilities are more restricted
Correct: This change only applies to 'Any Seat, Any Airline' bookings (ie. when you call Velocity and essentially convert your points to a monetary value to 'pay' for a commercial ticket on an airline outside of Virgin Australia and its web of partners).
You can continue to use Velocity points to book reward flights and make 'any seat' bookings on Virgin Australia and all partners (including Singapore Airlines). :)
