Quick question in relation to how much time to allow for travel from Brooklyn (Dumbo district) to JFK...
I've not visited New York before and will be in town for 2d in mid-Jan. I'm booked on QF12 leaving on a Tuesday night - if you know the trip from the area or Manhattan to JFK - how much time would you allow via cab or Uber?
Any suggestions or insights will be appreciated...
Bear in mind that your QF flight departs JFK at 18:00. The Van Wyck Expressway can be unpredictable and prone to traffic snarls in the afternoon particularly during the workweek. Add in any difficult events such as winter snowstorms - and I would be suggesting allowing a full hour, just to be safe. Sure, the 'normal' taxi / Uber time is between 40-45 mins but that is dependent on two factors - good weather and light traffic flows.

Thanks Horvath - I was factoring in about 35mins...might build in some more wiggle room...
