We are happy to hear your latest experience with us was better than the one before. We do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you on one of our flights again soon. Thank you for choosing us. *Sky
I recently had a bad service on EY463 from MEL-AUH. I submitted feedback via the Etihad website and received a stock standard reply. I responded to this advising the details of my return leg from Europe and commented that I hoped I would have a more positive experience next time. Towards the end of the first leg I was approached by a senior crew member who asked how the flight had been and if they had done better than on my previous trip. To be fair, they had looked after me well and I was happy to respond in the affirmative.
Thank you so much for your review. We hope to see you again soon :) *Sky
I like to use EY because it is one stop to Dublin . I must say (in J) that I was looked after beautifully on a number of trips ,much better than Lufstanza / Qantas/ Thai . Their ground staff can be found wanting at times but the lounges and FA's have been just a joy to fly with ! Maybe I have been lucky ? But I know I had a great last trip but the pax in front of me would say different ! Perhaps the difference was I smiled when interacting with the FA and was not rude !
Etihad - no thanks, my recommendation is to fly Emirates/Qantas.
I previously flew Qantas/Emirates but tried Etihad in late 2016. The service between the 3 providers was comparable so I have been flying Etihad as it is more convenient however this has chnaged and I am very disappointed in the recent service I have expereienced with Etithad.Â
I recently travelled First Class as below on Etihad. After my January trip, I noted that I was awarded my Tier miles but not my Guest miles so I went online to claim the missing miles.

By late February, I still had not received my Guest miles so I called the Service Centre who advised that there was a glitch with the system and that the issue would be resolved and the miles would be allocated.
A further 3 calls to the Service Centre, speaking face-to-face with the Customer Service people in the First Class lounge at Abu Dhabi airport on the 2nd April and still nothing. No reply, no contact, no resolution, no miles!
So tomorrow, I am flying out again on the same journey with low expectations of receiving the Guest miles for this third trip and facing further issues in trying to claim them so I decided to call the Service Centre again today. The person who I spoke with assured me that the matter had been escalated but there was nothing he could do as it was with the Retro Claims department. I asked to speak with someone in Retro Claims but told this was not possible. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was advised that this was also not possible as it was the night shift. He assured me that he would email Retro Claims again and was "hopeful" that the matter would be resolved! "Hopeful" - really Etihad??
Lastly, just to add one other item. Why is Etihad no longer providing pyjamas and bedding matrresses/pillows in Business Class? I can understand this for short flights (i.e. AUH to FRA) but on long flights from MEL to AUH these are essential!
Hi Rosef, we are sorry to see you faced issues while claiming miles for your recent flights with us. Please send us your Etihad Guest account number and the ticket numbers for the flights you need the miles credited for to our [email protected] address or via a private message on any of our social media channels so that we can follow up on this request for you. Thank you. *Max
Do Etihad ground staff at Sydney Airport have the right attitude for this job?.... I doubt it!
Last week, I've encountered the worst experience I've ever had with any airline in my entire life.
First of all, we were served by a youngster who clearly did not have enough training and was very nervous, however, this was not an issue for us, even though you would only expect to see inexperienced check-in agents at budget airlines, not Etihad. well, that's what I thought.
The main issue was when the supervisor on the night interfered as our bags exceeded our checked baggage allowance by 700 grames!! Well, the check-in agent asked us to remove this 700g, however, when my wife told the agent that it's only 700g and usually it's not an issue, the supervisor who was called George jumped in the conversation and with a very rude tone asked us to remove the excess weight. However, my wife politely said this is a common practice and usually no one asks for such thing, he raised his voice and said: "if you don't do what I say, I won't let you fly today"!!! then he asked the check-in agent not to serve us and to send us away and go in the queue again when we have the right weight! Little George is an Egyptian immigrant and apparently, he had many issues in his childhood, thus this job was an opportunity for him to exercise the privileges that come with it, in fact, abuse it.
Does he have the right to do that?
Any recommendation on how to get this person to learn how to speak to women in this country, and not to abuse his "power" and for Etihad not to hire unfit people anymore?!
I am a medical doctor with emergency and resuscitation expertise. On a flight between Sydney and Abu Dhabi last year, I responded to a crew request for medical assistance and ended up helping two passengers with medical problems over a couple of hours. I had a 3-hour layover in Abu Dhabi before another flight and asked the crew whether I could visit the lounge for a shower and some breakfast. When the flight landed, this request was refused. The thank you from Etihad was, at best, perfunctory, and I was given a standardised letter that included details that didn't match the assistance I'd given, e.g. one patient instead of two.
I complained but have seen no evidence that my complaint has been taken seriously. Guest Relations said that they had untaken a full investigation and the case was closed, and then ignored subsequent emails from me.
I will avoid flying with Etihad again. I think that they have poor systems in place for the management of medical emergencies, managing volunteers who help, and dealing with complaints afterwards.

So, Max....it’s September and this issue has still not been resolved. No contact, no email, no guest miles credited, NOTHING.

2 September and still NOTHING. No guest miles, no contact, no email......how long, how many phone calls, how many emails does it take to get this matter resolved?
People....fly Emirates, Singapore or Qantas.......Etihad has the worst customer service ever.
On 31/8 I made a claim for baggage damages and I received an email back stating it takes 21 calendar day to process. I did not hear back by 1/10 so I wrote back asking for a progress report but again I received no response. On 8/10 I wrote again asking the same but yet again I received no response. I called the Australian head office who recommended I file a complain through their website which I did on the 11/10 but yet again no response. Head office now have recommended I file an internal report which I plan to do if I don’t hear in the next few days. Failing that I will escalate the matter to ACA
I’m intrigued as to how etihad staff can be so incompetent when it comes to lounge access.
I’m VA gold and typically fly etihad to Europe and am baffled by how they can deny access to people that should have access.
Their flight attendants can crouch down and tell me how much they appreciate my business on the plane, but when I need to do work before I fly the lounge staff reject me and don’t believe me when I show the list on virgin website.
I even had a call centre agent tell me that VA gold doesn’t get any lounge access on any etihad flights. How can it possibly be so hard to get it right?
I flew Etihad when they were at the “ Reimagined phase” international business to Europe and it was magnificent but on those occasions since that time the airline has cut so much that I will not use them again .
