I have checked with CX via their Facebook page and wheelchair access is available in the Pier Business Lounge .. I reckon it will be worth while taking the time to get there and if all is on time we should have nearly 2 hrs there. Looking forward to it!!

Looking at the flight schedule we have a 3  & 1/2 hrs transit so should have plenty of time to get to the Pier if we are on time.

Has anyone used the electric buggy hire in HKG airport ? I see it goes from gate 25 to the Pier and costs $50 AUD for 5 pax but is on a first come first served basis. As we arrive at 0830 I was wondering if there is usually much of a waiting time? At $5/head it would be well worth it or so it would appear.Might be quite good if this is correct and theres not too long a wait.

I seem to remember reading on the Cathay Pacific website that you can only access any lounge if you have a transit time of 4 hours or more in HKG airport. So which is it?

vvbjr.   I think the 4 hour rule only applies to the " arrivals " lounge.
All other lounges are departure lounges and there is no minimum time limit whilst in transit to visit them that I am aware of !

Yes, I've spent time in the lounges and lounge-hopping (hey, it's a job!) well more than four hours ahead of my flight. I know a chap who had early morning arrival into Hong Kong on CX138 and a much later onwards leg to London, he intended to head into the city for the day but the weather was appalling – massive heavy rainstorms – so he just hung out at the airport all day, sampling the different lounges.

Thanks David. I thought that was the case but it was nice of vvbjr to bring it to my attention even though turned out to be  incorrect  just in case!!!

I dropped by The Wing and wasn't overly impressed.  Crowded.  Posting this from The Pier now - worth it if you have time to get here, it's a significant walk.  Very impressive lounge.

I have just done the CX flights through HKG and was very keen to try the Pier but never got around to it.

Both times through HKG the flights were gated nowhere near the Pier and the first time we arrived in Gate 1 but departed from gate 72 , what a hell of a walk.
Because my sister was in a wheelchair the CX star bunged us in the Wing Lounge and would not take us to the Pier so we stayed there, very nice lounge indeed. Same thing with the return sector , gated nowhere near the Pier and were taken to the Bridge which was not as good as the Wing but still very nice. Would love to have tried the Pier but that will have to be another time. Really enjoyed our flights with CX , excellent service and great aircraft especially the A350 - truly a magnificent aeroplane!
