Hi everyone,
Flying Cathay J class (as part of a QF ticket) from MEL - LHR via HKG next week. I will be connecting to a Aer Ligus flight then to dublin in LHR. I have asked to have my bag checked all the way through and QF said this should not be a problem. I understand there is a arrivals lounge in LHR that I can access as a J passenger. If I cannot have my bag checked through can I simply collect my bag at LHR and then go to the lounge? Is the baggage carousel in a area where I cannot go back to the lounge? I have a 4 hour wait in LHR for connecting flight so would love to be able grab a shower and some food before making my way over to the dark drab Terminal where Aer lingus flies to dublin.
Many thanks,
PeterLoh

I believe the AA arrivals lounge at LHR T3 is after baggage claim and immigration. Just hold onto your boarding passes to show that you flew in Business class.

LoveToFly, that sounds like a great trip! Cathay's new business class to London via Hong Kong - are stopping over there or going straight through? Anyway, we have a review of the AA Arrivals lounge at http://www.ausbt.com.au/american-qantas-british-airways-arrivals-lounge-heathrow-terminal-3 in case you wanted to read up on this.

meant to say that its actually a straight trip to LHR and not stopping in HKG. Its on my next to do list and am very tempted to go over for the Hong Kong Sevens in March.

A shame the new Wing First in HK won't be open for you, but if you can, head to The Wing Business during your HK transit (unless of course you'll be down the other end of the airport, in which case it's The Pier).
