Not sure Qantas will be happy with them naming it the 'Q' Suite!
I don't think Qantas has trademark rights over the letter "Q". Even if it has in some jurisdictions, I don't think those rights can be defended at court.
True, Qantas don't own 'Q', though I'd also be surprised if they hadn't tried to trademark at least some 'Q' based branding. Considering they describes so much of their onboard (soft) products using the letter 'Q' eg 'Q streaming' 'Q news', 'QSpirit', 'Radio Q' etc I was mainly noting that I can't believe that they would be happy with another airline taking a similar naming convention to a product.
I understand the Cadbury 'Purple' comparisons. But even though we are all free to use 'Cadbury Purple', or 'Q' in this case, I find it very interesting that Qatar seems to be undertaking a branding route which is already used extensively by competitor, where I thought they would try to stay as far away as possible from existing messaging/branding as a further means of differentiation.

Qatar Airways has been very 'Q'-based for a while also. For instance, in Privilege Club (the Qatar FF program), travellers earn Qpoints and Qmiles, and can upgrade using Qcredits. Plus there's the giant Q-shaped staircase in Qatar's Doha Al Mourjan lounge!
