Has anyone ever used the Qantas Price Promise successfully ? if so, how was your experience? I'm looking at booking BNE-HKG & SIN-BNE Business class in September and it's $3,300 pp AUD on the Qantas website. But $3,000 pp on bestjet. Which to the best of my knowledge ticks all the boxes on the long list of stipulations the comparable website must reach. The thing is you must book the Qantas flights paying the extra and then claim back. My concern is Qantas will say no and i'll be $600 in the hole.

Yes, BestJet is Australian - based in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane. Never booked with them, but have price matched at Flight Centre

Maybe ask their online chat? Do you know if you'll get the credit card fees on Qantas back as well?

submitted today. will revert back on time frame and outcome shortly. I thought that too with Bestjet because it's a .com not .com.au but it does look like they have an office here in BNE so fingers crossed. Not sure how they get so much cheaper. Are they sacrificing most their commission from the sale?

why don't you just book with BestJet? I have used them and had no problems. Saved plenty over booking direct.

FYI claim ok'd same day. Great service Qantas if you're listening.
We're happy to let you know that after assessing your claim, you do qualify for our Price Promise.
To recognise this successful claim, you'll receive:
For any future claims, please ensure your screenshot has a time and date stamp as per our terms and conditions. The time and date stamp is required element as part of the Price Promise claim. We do require this to ensure the competitor's price was found after your purchase.
In this instance, we can replicate the lower fare on the competitor website and so are able to validate your claim.
Finally, if any changes are made to your itinerary before the departure of your first listed flight, your Price Promise claim would no longer be valid.

It's a bit rich to only refund once your journey begins - they should refund the difference immediately...

How are they out of pocket? You paid them say $3,500. The next day they price match to $3,000 & refund you $500. If you cancel your ticket (assuming you have a refundable ticket) they then give you back another $3,000. Besides I could cancel my ticket at anytime & get the full $3.5k back...makes no difference & Qantas is no worse off.

I submitted a claim once and found the process insulting. They want time/date stamps on everything and will only price match Australian companies with valid ABN/ACN. These two steps would confuse and prevent 90% of people from attempting, which to me illustrates that Qantas doesn't actually care to price match, they just want to seem magnanimous. I applied for a guarantee once, but it was cancelled because I had to change the return flight and you can't make further claims since they have to be made the same day you bought the original ticket on qantas.com. The whole thing is a joke to me. They should refund the difference in fare right away, but instead they've created a massive dog and pony show to give the impression that they care, but they clearly don't. In reality, Qantas should offer more competitive fares on their direct web site so we don't have to turn to third-party sites to find the best rate.
