Hey guys,
I am currently on a trip in India which was booked as a BNE-SIN-BOM return, although on the return leg BOM-HGK-BNE was also an available option.
It was a mixed economy fare (out Saver and back Sale I believe).
The way the ticket was originally issued is BNE-SIN on QF, SIN-BOM on a QF numbered flight operated by 9W, and the reverse coming back.
Anyway, as far as the fare rules state, I believe re-routing back through HKG with a stopover should be an option, but I just spent 90 mins on the phone with QF who are adamant it is not.
Now here is the weird part, since booking, my ticket had been re-issued internally twice. Both times 24 hours prior to the Air India operated leg, the ticket has been re-issued to no longer use a QF flight number, but a 9W flight number on that leg.
I asked multiple times if this could be the reason why it wasnt allowing a re-routing but they keep saying no.
Just trying to figure out if it has duped me out of a stop in HKG on the way home?

So you've booked via Singapore and now want to go via Hong Kong?

Sorry, you are right, not Air India, its Jet airways.
All of those fees and fare differences are fine, I guess the point is that QF internally had re-issued my ticket twice (without me knowing), and now there seem to be restrictions on it.
Im getting a blatant "No you cannot re-route this to go back via HKG." And I suspect that it is because they have messed up the ticket, not because that is one of the fare rules.

Or you could just stick with the original booking, unless you have a very good reason to change your flights back via HK and pay any fare difference and other fees.
