Are Eva air reducing Brisbane frequencies? Apparantly according to the timetable from 9 Feb 2018 Eva are dropping Tuesday flights from BNE. Has anyone heard about this?

Anything can happen between now and 9 Feb 2018. Most likely NY/CNY additional frequently that will get dropped, if one is added.

They introduced an extra flight over the busy holiday period so are likely going back to the previous schedule. I have heard they want to be daily by years end, and in 18 months introduce the 777-300 to BNE.

Really!? Was that from a reliable source? I know they have always wanted to increase to daily but limited by fleet size. But if they can really bring 77W to BNE that would be a huge upgrade! I had enough of the stupid angle sloper on A330.

That would be fantastic! But where did you hear that?

I heard it from a source within the airline who is of senior Management status. When you look at how much this route has grown out of Brisbane just this year alone, (up about 25%) it doesn't surprise me.

So far I have been told they would like to go daily late 2017 (in time for Xmas) and then announce 777 to commence late 2018 (subject to continued growth).

As an add on...any reason why we don't see EVA air anywhere else in Australia?

Apparently the state with the highest Taiwanese population in Australia is QLD, with a population about 25% higher than the next state (NSW). CI has flights to BNE, SYD and MEL so perhaps BR didn't feel that there was much enough additional room for them to play.
