Hi Guys,

In a couple of weeks I will be traveling to American where I will achieve QF Gold approximately half way into my trip,

Is there anyway of getting into the AA Admirals club without a FF card to show?

Cheers

I'm guessing you could show them the app - your ticket will also show your higher status if processed quickly enough.

Provided the Sapphire status is shown on the boarding pass there's no need to show the physical membership card.

Will you accrue the SC in time? If you plan on using the lounge in transit at LAX before flying on AA domestically, then the SC may not accrue yet! Once it has and your status has changed, doesn't the Qantas app provide digital cards?

I wouldn't count on getting access.  I travel a lot on AA around the US and the lounge staff can vary widely from obstructions to extremely helpful.  If there are any doubts in their minds you should expect to be turned away.

And it's worth noting there can be quite a lag between changing status and reflection on the boarding pass. So don't count on your Sapphire status showing when you need it.

Thanks Guys for your answers,

I have received my booking confirmation from AA Australia and the booking code is D (Domestic First/ QF Business earn Rate), I have stated my FF number. Is there anything else I have to do to receive status credits? Also how long do they take to process from the time of the flight?

Cheers

Really? I have never found that to be the case. I just travelled the US for a month and every lounge I visited, the staff were courteious, and always got the free drink vouchers too!

Mine posted within a couple of days, so providing there is some gap, you should be alright.

I was once in your situation but in Japan. My QF app had shown the new status but it was not reflected in the boarding card from JL. When I got to Sakura lounge, the lady called QF to confirm. Since she could not get a confirmation immediately, she invited me to enter the lounge. A bit later, she approached me to say that she had got a confirmation from QF about my Sapphire status.
