Hello,

I hear that SIA is releasing a new Business and First class for their new A380 in October. Does anybody know the date they are showcasing the new cabins?

Also, does anyone know if the Silverkris lounges in Changi Terminal 3 are being upgraded or refurbished anytime soon?

Thanks!

Hi Jaydozer: we were expecting a media preview of the new first class suites and business class seats in August but it now appears the big reveal could be held off right up until the new A380 is ready to fly, around October. Also no word from SQ about a timetable for updating its T3 lounges to the new look – we know this is on the cards but the airline hasn't shared any date, which indicates it's not imminent. As you can imagine, ay upgrade would be quite a complex job due to the way the lounges are 'nested' like Russian dolls.

Hi Jaydozer - I was in the Silverkris lounge last week at Changi and asked that specific question about the lounge.  I was told that planning is well underway for all the T3 lounges (Business, First and Private room) but the job is massive and SQ are not sure how to accommodate all the guests whilst the renovations are happening.

They also suggested that instead of individual security screening at the gate it will be done as part of the check in process, which will be similar to the new T4.

I can't wait until SQ upgrades its T3 lounges, especially if they make the Star Alliance Gold lounge into something worthy of being called a 'lounge', let alone suitable for Gold status holders!
