A story this morning in the NT news that Malaysian Airlines is cancelling its Darwin -KL service in a few weeks, it has advised pax with existing bookings after this date that the ticket is now valid from Singapore, meaning pax would ave to pay their own way to Singapore, they are not offering refunds, seems like terrible service, is this kind of thing normal in these situations.
Nothing's been confirmed yet so one would hope that when it does get confirmed MH would refund tickets. If they don't I think it would be a fair call to do a chargeback or similar as they haven't even provided a flight from the same country.
Any normal airline would either provide a refund or reroute (on another carrier) like Etihad, Singapore and Virgin have let me do in the last 12 months.
