There's flights with business class availability for 55000 miles + $45. However, all of them were mixed cabin and involve one domestic sector, like "MEL-SYD in business, SYD-LAX in coach", which means you're flying the sector to LAX in economy, huh???
(for instance, economy all the way costs you about 42500 miles)

If you used webjet for booking, and chose business as your class of travel between Australia and US ports other than direct entry points, cheapest fares are all mixed classes. As they do not have mixed classes option to choose from, this seems to be the industry standard? Always worth checking this carefully prior to purchase.
