Do you travel elsewhere? I think Qantas has fantastic lounge network with One World and for that sole reason, they are worthwhile, although Singapore Airlines' product is great in business. If you gain over 20k points, may be worthwhile to consider Qantas as you could use those points to upgrade on trips. My gut here will be to swap to QF.

I am PPS with Singapore and Platinum with Qantas and if I had to choose I would go with Qantas. The key points that sway my decision are One World have a better standard of lounges worldwide and I find it easier to earn Qantas points rather than Kisflyer miles

Krisflyer for sure, a flight on SQ is a dream compared to most QF flights loaded with cashed up bogans

Unless you're in Business, SQ don't look after their Star Gold members well in SIN at all. The Kris Flyer Gold lounge in Singapore is poor. With oneworld Gold you get access to QF, BA and CX lounges at Changi which all have showers (SQ Gold lounge doesn't). Sadly, SQ don't treat their non J and F passengers well at their home hub.

Correct me if I'm wrong.
Doesn't qualification to any higher tier of frequent flyer membership depends on the amount of flying with the airline? And if your next few months' flights are with Qantas (beyond your control) then you'd clock up for Qantas qualification anyway. Therefore I don't understand your having to consider to ditch one for the other.

Slight correction... CX don't have their own lounge at SIN. And QF Gold is OW Sapphire, which gains access to the BA and QF lounges. QF Gold also gains access to the EK lounge at SIN if flying on QF or EK.

Go for QF Gold. Whilst SQ offer a superior product in every class of travel and new fangled conveniences like in flight wifi (which they have had for many years) and big aeroplanes like the 380 and 777 (which QF may have missed the memo on !) the SQ Gold lounge at Changai is a (bad) joke and there's no hope of advancement past Kris Flyer Gold without Business Class / First Class travel. (an issue for we budget conscious business travellers)

I have not found a credit card which still gives Krisflyer points. I have an Amex which is linked to Velocity points which I transfer over at a lesser rate. So My Aussie credit cards all flow into Qantas. Maybe I did not look hard enough!

Thanks for your comments. The opportunity to use EK lounges at Melb and Sin is a big incentive!

The SilverKris lounge in Melb and the Gold lounge at Changi (although I most always get access to the Silverkris lounge there by asking another single traveller to take me in as their guest) are big factors when comparing the chance to use the EK lounge instead at both airports.

I have control over which airline I use (mostly) and can only attain QF Gold and retain it on my schedule by ditching Krisflyer. Or I forget swapping to QF and retain Singapore Gold.

Thanks, I am swaying that way right now. I also believe I can retain Gold with QF on 1 less return flight than using SG. Using QF or Emirates lounges is a big factor for me. Who does not like the Moet offered by EK in their lounge?!
