Hi all - does anyone know how long it generally takes to receive a new membership card after qualifying for status? I qualified for Platinum on October 30, from Gold, but haven't received the new membership kit yet.

I'm wondering if it's worth contacting QANTAS or just waiting a little bit longer, if my delivery expectations aren't where they should be.

My experience is with VA, so may be completely irrelevant.

But I qualified for Platinum on October 31 from Gold, and my kit arrived today November 14.

I'd say 2-3 weeks is a reasonable time frame for these things. If it doesn't arrive by Friday, then perhaps chase it up then.

You will be treated as P from day one, even without the kit.

@newbieADL I also recently qualified for platinum and had to ring Qantas for the new cards. They said they sent it but I ended up getting a new one sent. I did get the kit. Worth giving them a call. But as @Steve987 rightfully says you are treated as Platinum without the kit and new cards.

If you have the Qantas smartphone app, select "MY QFF" at the bottom right of the screen and if you swipe left it'll bring up your card barcode and status.

I just qualified for Qantas Gold and the pack arrived 3.5 weeks after I achieved the status tier.

When I went up a level, it was about 3 weeks before I received the new card.

Can’t comment on Qantas but I went from Velocity Red to Silver to Gold in 2days. But I received my Silver membership in the mail one day then the next day I received my Gold membership. Haha. Only took about a week.

Thank you for all your feedback, as of writing, I'm still yet to receive the kit. I appreciate the suggestions re the app, that's something I was aware of, but as this is my first time reaching Platinum, I was a little excited to get the physical card. Sad I know!

I contacted QF via Facebook, I was informed the kit had be sent 28/10, which interestingly was before I qualified but did have forward bookings, the Social Media team said to call the Platinum call centre to find out where it is. The call-centre agent confirmed that it had indeed been sent, but said she would arrange to send me another one that will arrive within 14 days, I wonder if this means I may get two?
