Cathay Buisiness Award Seat Availabililty The lack thereof!

Has anyone noticed how hard it is to get business class award seats on Cathay between Melbourne or Sydney and Hong Kong? Not sure what’s going on but Cathay seems to have stopped releasing these seats. They have availability in PE but not in Business. Any opinions/ comments would be welcome.

What dates are you looking at? If it's from roughly now to CNY, there is a good chance they are all occupied. Cathay do open seats closer to the date but if you're not seeing any seats available now, waiting till closer to your planned departure date would be your best chance.

I’ve noticed the same for September/October next year.

Qantas have no J availability either to HKG or SIN return.

For QF seats seats are released first for high status travellers and then later what's left is made available to lower status tiers. If you're a Bronze member for example, to see award seats for QF operated flights you'd need to wait till around 310 days before the flight.
