I recently flew economy from Sydney to London via Singapore with Qantas, and had no workable inflight entertainment system for the entire flight (it kept cutting out after about 10 mins, requiring constant rebooting by the crew - eventually they just gave up). I have lodged a complaint by email to Qantas about this (but not yet hard back). What sort of compensation (if any) could I reasonably expect from Qantas for this?

Hi RA, and welcome to AusBT!

Phew, Sydney to London sans inflight entertainment - what a long journey that would have been for many passengers!

The comments under our 'How to complain - and get results' article (http://www.ausbt.com.au/how-to-complain-to-an-airline-and-get-results) have quite a few tales from fellow AusBT readers but nothing for a trip as long as SYD-LHR sans screen! It seems that a voucher is a bit of a 'default offering' from Qantas with $50-$100 mentioned, those being to Hong Kong and Los Angeles respecitively, so you'd like to think that Sydney-London would be worth more than $100. But it might also come down to asking for an appropriate amount of points?

Ask for double of what you want.If you get half of that, you do the math.

It also comes down to your Frequent Flyer status... The lower your status the less you will get.
