I knew there was a similar post a while ago.

So me and my wife are planning for a travel on Emirates first class to Europe.
What we've seen on Qantas website is the middle seats are blocked as bassinet seats.

Should we book and select the other seats first and then call Qantas to unlock the seats?
Does anyone have silimar experience like this?

Poll: Anyone successfully booked middle seats in Emirates first class?

Yup, I've booked them as a QF Codeshare. I used the EK booking reference, which was different from the Qantas booking reference (From memory I found it was provided somewhere in Qantas' 'Manage my Booking') to access the booking on the EK website, and selected my seats that way.

Can't say I've had any problems booking seats on row 1 on Emirates when flying in First (either on the A380 or the 777), but it could always vary from flight to flight.

Might also be worth having a quick look on expert flyer to see if your specific flight’s have the seats blocked out too.

I noticed the same issue when I did a "practice" on-line booking through Qantas. However I ended up booking through a travel agent (first class to Europe for self and wife) with middle 2 seats booked for all flights. I guess TA has better access than others.

Use the booking reference on EK website and it will allow you to choose the seats.
They'll also let you change them at checkin.
