I am renting a Hertz car for 6 weeks out of Dallas. I will be travelling through 7 states during that period. Has anyone used the NeverLost gps system? Is it worth the cost?
No, we were given it free on one our hire cars, and it was a terrible system. Small screen confusing directions. I would have been annoyed if I had paid for it. Better option is to print directions to your nearest best buy and purchase a garmin for $100. Failing that get a US Sim from SimCorner and use google maps on your phone,

Like the previous comment I also received a neverlost free with a car. Very unintuitive and has a hopeless search function. The last time I hired in the US I used Google maps which was great.
I’ve used them a lot across the US. They work fine once you get used to them, which actually doesn’t take long. A few minutes working out the screen navigation and you’re good to go. But personally with phones being so good at navigation these days I’ve been using them less and less. As long as you have a good data plan of course.
One thing to watch using phones for nav though is if you want them to connect through the cars stereo, many US cars have delays in their entertainment systems such that instructions are almost finished by the time the car system starts to play it. Jeep for example, useless. Which probably means all Chrysler products. All you end up getting is something like ‘radio....silence....”then turn left”......radio.’
