Hi All, I have a question relating to forcing shorter turn around that Qantas normally allows.
Ive been looking at return SYD - BNE - CNS return to get a quick lot of double status credits on a single day. The flight back down to BNE from CNS is due to depart 35 minutes after it has arrived from BNE. This is under the Qantas website minimum turn around of 40 minutes, and as such I have been unable to book the trip on a single ticket.
It looks like if I want these flights I'll have to book them as a seperate ticket, but given this will be under the 40 minute connection threshold I'm wondering if the Qantas system may kick up a fuss at some point and cancel or amend one of these tickets.
Can anyone offer some advice on if booking these as seperate tickets is a risky move or not?
I believe it would be the same plane going in and out which means a missed connection is likely not going to be an issue unless the plane goes technical, but thanks for the feedback. I might route via Melbourne to be on the safe side.
Looking at the QF schedules in and out of CNS from all other ports I would be pretty confident that it will be the same plane returning to BNE. Howeverif you can manage to book an alternative return with allowable minimum connecting times, that might be a good idea!

If you book separate tickets which don't meet the Minimum Connection Time (MCT), you do so at your own risk.
I am not sure the system will flag it, but being separate tickets you aren't technically protected if you misconnect.

I wouldn’t assume it’s the same plane...

The risk is on you if you take 2 separate tickets. i would consider an alternative itinerary.
