Hi all, I have a QF Platinum card and am also a burgundy Qatar Privilege Club member. When I book flights through the Qatar site I add my QF number to reflect my OneWorld status to enjoy the benefits but I don't receive any points or status credits to my QF account on sale fares when flying Qatar. If I was to book flights with Qatar using my Burgundy Qatar membership number instead, would my OneWorld Emerald benefits still apply and allow lounge access? Cheers.
It may do. You could probably employ a trick which I have seen some savvy pax use with CX, where they book the ticket on their QFF account and gain entry into the lounge. When in the lounge (or about to depart) they then ask the staffer to change their ticket to nominate their Asia Miles account. I have seen it work first hand on a number of occcasions.
Book direct with QR to earn points. At the lounge, you can then show your QF Platinum card to access OW Emerald-status benefits. For Doha, this will be the "OW First Class lounge", not the actual Al-Safwa lounge unless you are flying First Class with QR.

Yes, this is actually pretty tricky, as I entered my QFF (platinum) number into CX booking system, and tried to access QF first lounge in SYD with CX diamond, lounge dragon refused my request for access and tried to send me down to business lounge (ticketed cabin), and once I showed her the actual QFF platinum, she resorted and finally granted access to me.
