On a SIA 777 200 aircraft with just two class configuration, in Business Class ( 2x2x2 configuration), does anyone have a recommendation for a best seats and why? Traveling as a couple.

Best are the bulkhead seats, ideally first row, rather than near the wing as these are old, old 777's, and noisly as hell.....cant wait for the 787 regional replacements....I do Sing to Delhi and sometimes get these old girls, still great service from SIA, but the planes are lookin gvery dated.....

Gee, didn't know they were the Pterodactyls of the fleet, sounds like I better pack earplugs too. I was thinking row 12 or 17, but concerned some sxcreaming babies could be also given that same row being the bulkhead.

When flying as a couple I normally go for a pair of seats on the outer side: that way one of you is a little further away from everyone else (so a bit better privacy) and the other has direct aisle access, rather than selecting two seats in the middle which are more exposed if you're both trying to sleep, etc. Mid-cabin to avoid the usual sources of noise and light from each end.
On a daytime flight though, there isn't a big difference.

It's pretty simple... as far away from the engine's as possible. The vibration and noise transmitted through the wings on these aircraft will disturb you more than any other factor.

Gee, what is it with noise and these aircraft, they sound as if they are going to be shockers. Might remind me of the Air NZ DC-8's in the good old days.

I also vote one for bulkhead. Not because of engine noise (a problem that can be easily solved with a good pair of NC headphone). But you actually have more legroom. All other leg rests go under the seat in front of you. So sometimes when you lift up your leg, bend your knees, you bump on the seat in front of you. No such problems in bulkhead.

I sat in the middle bulkhead seats for a recent trip, good leg room & has a feeling of space - whilst the flight back to Brisbane in the upgraded seating was better, it was still a great trip - excellent service & managed to get some much needed sleep in.

You can't actually solve the problem with headphones on these aircraft, because the vibration is transferred through the seat, and you are unlikely to bump the seat in front of you with your knees while asleep, as well.

To the pointy end as far as you can get. The better half and myself, just had a bone shaker experience on the ole lady, from Hong Kong to Singapore. Wow, forget the noice cancelling ear things, we were shaking more than after a seven day bender in Bali. Avoid bulkhead row 17, 777-200 V2, D&F, travelling as a couple as every man and their dog will trample through your wee precious space when boarding, funny as it was. Can not fault the service, top notch but they really need to get a Sav Blanc on their wine list. There again, it was only under four hours and the outstanding customer service from the flight crew, made our trip quite enjoyable. The A350-900, 11 D&F from Sinagapore to Brisbane, what a difference, outstanding and so quiet.
