The thing QF sometimes don’t realise is that loyalty goes both ways. There comes a price point where you’ll just jump on SQ or whatever and save the money regardless of reward.
total madness.i went to look at the same flights but ex adelaide to budapest and out of munich for december and they were talking well over three grand, qatar was close to a grand less with better timings and superior product.so ex doha to budapest i get a little a320 after coming off the a350 ex adelaide instead of a pair of 777's does that worry me.not in the slightest and coming home has me on the a350 for both flights.scheduling is better on qatar and the timing does not affect my body clock.
I’ve had this happen randomly - price suddenly shoots up to $2k or more for what is often a $600 flight. Speak to qantas they have no explanation - same flight booked direct with Emirates is the normal price. Doesn’t seem to be any logic to when it occurs.
I prefer the 2:30am BNE-SIN flight - with qantas only operating a daytime Flight on that route it’s a total waste of a day to spend it sitting on an aircraft... also much nicer on a 777 rather than an A330...

Are you kidding? I would take a QF A330 over an EK 777 any day of the week whether in J or Y. Far superior in terms of the hard product, which is woeful on the EK 777 with angled flat, no direct aisle access in J and 10 abrest in Y.
Really? I found the EK Y far better - the angled flat and the lie flat are practically indistinguishable to me - can sleep perfectly well in either - I'm not sure why I care about direct aisle access - I take my GF with me most places and the EK seats with the droppable divide is much nicer - any other time I tend to sit down or have drunk sufficient that I don't really notice clambering over the person sat by the aisle.
Seat pitch in economy is worse on the A330 than the 777 - and despite being 9 vs 10 abreast the seat width is the same. The 777 also doesn't sound like its going to rattle itself to pieces on take off either.
I have found QF to be superior to EK. EK stewards are more like a Russian Police force, and don’t seem to enjoy serving passengers. That has been my experience. Give me QF anytime.

Angled lie flat and non direct aisle access are just unacceptable in my opinion. You’re obviously a lot more easily pleased than I am, as I cannot sleep in an angled flat situation. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

I will acknowledge that I am a bit of a freak when it comes to sleeping. I can sleep 14 hours straight in economy provided I have a window seat (although not on an A380 - they've been designed wrong - or at least the SQ ones have - wall is too far away from the seat...)

If QFF Gold then likely a sapphire Oneworld in which case try Qatar or maybe Cathay so you get some SC and points.
