Good morning all - has anyone had experience getting from BRU to either AMS or Amsterdam Central by rail? I am taking a party of 6 for a tour of the Somme, and plan arriving back at BRU at the end of the trip around 1000 on the morning of Sunday 10JUN18. We will be returning our van and then taking a train to either AMS (for some of the group) and Amsterdam Central for the rest of us. It looks like there are two trains servicing the route, and one appears to have good discounts for seniors if travelling around noon, but it seems we will have to wait for the calendar to roll over into May to make a booking. Any pros or cons for either of the trains, and is there a vast difference in booking early or relying on a walk up purchase?
I’ve done this route a couple of times and it’s fast and easy. When I did it the train stopped at AMS on the way to Amsterdam Centraal. As mentioned by Stuart, the Man in Seat 61 is an excellent source. You should be able to book online with the belgian rail site.
