What lounge membership do people recommend for infrequent travellers from Australia doing the big holiday or retirement trip to Europe or US in economy?
Don't fly enough to justify membership of airline clubs with high fees.
From what I can see Prioity Pass at $99US with $27US entry seems best as member can bring in guests. For a couple, only one membership needed. Don't seem to have limits on number of guests you can bring in provided you pay entry fee! Can also access some longes when flying domestically in Australia.
What a great question. Providing PP have lounges where you need them, I don't think you can go wrong with the US$99 per year, and US$27 per person per visit. It will certainly add some sparkle before the Economy class travel to follow.
You should also look at LoungeBuddy, which helps you find single pay-to-use lounges in different airports, and may work out more price effective that PP depending on where you travel.

Great answer, I'd back this suggestion as well. LoungeBuddy is a great way of locating paid-entry lounges. The app has gotten a lot better in recent years.
Have a look at the various Credit card companies eg AMEX platinum is good if you are going ot do a bit of travel, you get 2 priority passes for free as well as a decent travel insurance

Diners card might be worth a look too, depending on your travel and spending patterns.

Some credit cards also offer free PP membership and a couple of free passes. Then just need to pay for your +1.

PP is great in Europe as it has a good spread.
