My Air China flight from Beijing to Brisbane in January was cancelled over weekend....anyone know whether this route has been cancelled by Air China as some forums suggest that this service is no longer happening from September?

I believe it is cancelled from 23 AUG 18 - 2 JAN 19 according to Airline route. This is backed by flights not being available during this period but available afterwards.

Isn’t the route operated by Air China’s A330s? Were they redeployed onto stronger demand routes that are served by 787s with engine troubles?

They fly the A330-200 to BNE, the only 787's they have are the 787-9, if they're swapping 787's for A330's that's a large capacity decrease.

They don't really have much of choice in less they lease aircraft but what i have heard is the A332 is being freed due to 789 problems.
