I have to go to Phnom Penh for work in a few weeks from Melbourne. I am QF silver, but about 100 SC from gold, but also a QC member. How would you suggest I get there, preferably flying business while maximising my SC earn?
Bangkok Airways are excellent and they interline now so you can transit in BKK easily if the timing suits. Alternatively Qantas and Jetstar Asia via Sin but you d have to clear customs and re check. Easy if you choose to stop over.
to maximise points and SC earn, fly QF into either SIN or BKK then MH into PNH via KUL.
if you just want to get your 100 SCs to qualify for Gold then flying MH from MEL to PNH (return) will do it.
Long-haul earn rates on MH are rubbish but intra-asia is very good indeed and business is often heavily discounted. The MH business product is quite good and often substantially cheaper than QF.

There is a code share with Bangkok airways which I have used and it is fine. Book on the Qantas website and it will come up.

Good suggestion. I just had a look. They have some pretty good timings.
