FYI I checked with VA about lounge access in WLG or AKL for international flights in December and there was no answer available. Perhaps they will resort to a $20 voucher LOL.

For Auckland, I'd honestly expect VA to just send all passengers to the independent lounge they're already using for other Pacific Island flights, but VA would still need to negotiate that with the lounge operator.
Wellington is trickier because the only lounges there are run by Air NZ and Qantas. I've only seen VA offer vouchers for a lack of lounge access in Los Angeles - in other ports such as Nadi (Fiji) where even business class passengers get no lounge, I'm not aware of meal vouchers being issued: something VA should definitely work on, of course!

Yes, well this really just shows Wellington for what it is... a tiny, poorly designed airport, far outgrown its capacity, cobbled together from an old tin shed and an Ansett terminal.

Here are my best guesses (Obviously nothing is confirmed and I've based this on current agreements) and this is 100% speculation.
Just the Trans Tasman flights...
In Australia (they should be able to use existing arrangements from Pacific flights)
Brisbane - Most likely the Plaza Premium Lounge (already used by VA for flights to the Pacific)
Gold Coast - The Virgin Lounge (nothing will change here)
Melbourne - Most likely the Plaza Premium Lounge (already used by VA for flights to the Nadi)
Sydney - Maybe the Singapore Airlines or Etihad lounge.
Obviously, they could use the Etihad lounge in both Sydney and Melbourne (I guess they've got several options in both Sydney and Melbourne)
In New Zealand
Auckland - Most likely the Strata Lounge (already used by VA for flights to the Pacific).
Christchurch and Queenstown - Maybe the Manaia Lounge (it's run by Ground handler PlaneBiz who VA currently don't use). Qantas currently uses them but it's possible to buy access at the door for $40 meaning PlaneBiz might be open to a deal with other airlines.
Dunedin - Doubt they'll strike a deal with NZ the only lounge operator (so you'll most likely be lounge less)
Wellington - Again only QF and VA have lounges (so you'll again most likely be lounge less)

Does anyone know if as part of the up coming break up between VA and AirNZ, VA will do a status match to drag across some of AirNZ frequent flyers.

I think you mean QF and NZ.
