Just been advised of change to flight tines for Nov 29- and notice that direct flights are now in a 717- pretty cheesed off as I booked way back in business on the usual 737.

Why would Qantas change? Probably time I changed from Qantas if that is the way they treat us!

There could be low demand for that flight and/or higher demand on the route the 717 was originally scheduled on, or one of of a whole range of other possible reasons.

The aircraft you'll fly on is not guaranteed (nor is seat selection for that matter) and QF moves aircraft around to suit them.

Nothing wrong with the 717! The business class product is comparable to the 737.

I caught the 717 last week. It's a pretty good ride. I don't think there's any significant difference between it and the 737 - and as Ryan K noted, the biz class seats are comparable...

Feel free to switch to another airline. Literally any other - equipment will still get swapped and schedules will still change.

The 717 is a comparable product to the 737 (plenty of people prefer it). It's fine. Chill bro.

I like the front of the 717 in business (now if it had been the back a different kettle of fish), and have found the QantasLink crew working the business class all excellent. Don’t let it worry you, at least it’s not a Dash

I prefer the 717 for Business as the cabin has a proper divider at row 3/4 not just a panel above the seat like the 737. Staff on Qlink are generally younger and level of service and friendliness is slightly better.

Changes of aircraft- no differnt to any other airline doesn’t matter if “us” is business or platinum etc

What's your problem with the 717? It's a great aircraft and many people - especially in Business - prefer it to the 737. Crews and meals are often a bit better, too. Try it before you complain.

The 717's I've been on out of ADL to BNE and SYD have always been a decent flight, the crew I've seen have always been pretty good; both up the front of the bus and down the back.

I use the 717 regularly out of Townsville, nothing wrong with the aircraft itself and especially in business class, the cabin itself has a great feel, however the reliability factor is still an issue but is better than it was 12 months ago when cancellations were far too regular.

You'd have reason to be annoyed if you were in a 789/330 and it changed to a 737/717, however I think you are getting worked up over a like for like switch here. At the end of the day, you are still getting a recliner seat.

If you think this is worth moving away from QF, there must be other service issues at hand as IMHO this is not a reason to change airlines.

Qantas have changed a number of flights from a 737 to a 717. Personally, I don’t have a problem with it. You can tell the type of plane by the flight number, if it has three digits, it is a 737. If it has four digits that begin with a one, it is a 717.

That is not necessarily correct, as there are 737 flights with 4 digits.
