This may seem like a stupid question, but worth a shot consulting with you guys. I’m currently VA Gold, and will be on 218 SC by my review date on the 19th of January, 2019. Unfortunately my employer has booked me on SQ W to HKG on the 21st of January, after my review date, which would earn me enough status credits to pass the 400 threshold. My question would be whether VA would be at all lenient to the fact I have travel booked to requalify. If it helps, I have been VA Silver for 2 years and VA Gold for 2 years. Should I just call to discuss my options? Anyone with experience with this?
I would call up VA. My wife was just short of Platinum with a return European flight with SQ in J. They gave a “once only” extra year at Gold after providing the Reloc for the coming itinerary. See what they say, they may do it or may not but there is a good chance that they will do it for you. Good luck with it.

Also Call closer to the date, they can do it over the phone if they will so see if you get any closer and then Call say a week before your review date.
I emailed during my review period as I was just short of maintaining gold and as a "one off" they did let me keep my gold. The system did not process it so I was sent the silver package, so I called about three weeks after my initial email and they changed it over the phone. However the date restarted so I lost any status credits earnt in those 3 weeks. But on the plus the review date was extended out by 3 weeks for the following year. I hope that helps!
