The literature on access eligibility for the Domestic Business Lounge in Sydney for passengers travelling in international business class says that you are eligible "if connecting to or from a Qantas or Emirates international flight on the same day". Because you are ultimately connecting to an international sector in business class, you are therefore eligible. Note that you may bring in one guest who does not need to be travelling.
I suggest you take a copy of the applicable wording with you, or at least bookmark it on your phone. I've had to argue the toss on this one at the front desk, more than once...
As seen on the website, ' International Business - Eligible if connecting to or from a Qantas or Emirates international flight on the same day.' In theory, you should be able to access the domestic business lounges at SYD, CBR and MEL and also international one at MEL. Since you have a connecting flight to Auckland (internationally) that day, you should have access to business lounges. However, the lounge attendant would most likely deny you access unless you show them the rules of access and your connecting flight boarding passes. So have them ready and prepare to argue a little bit. If they really don't want to let you in, at least you have a Qantas Club to camp out.

Hi all,
Just a quick question before I fly on Wednesday.
I'm flying economy SYD-CBR, before connecting to MEL and AKL in business (DSC run)
Am I allowed to use the business lounge in Sydney before the SYD-CBR leg? or must I camp out in the qantas club (I'm Gold)?
Thanks :)

Sometimes it's easier to camp out in the food court rather than have a fight with the gate keepers....

I would, but the T2 food court might be nicer than the one in T3.

As a follow up, I got in with no questions asked. Sydney very lax with boarding pass checks.
