I'm QF Gold and need to book a SYD-PER-SIN-SYD trip and prefer to fly Qantas. The SIN-SYD is overnight so I'd like to book into Premium Economy or Business. Problem is the other two flights don't have PE and online QF only let you book into one class. Business for all three flights is over budget. Are there any tips or tricks that are known, or do you have to call them and plead your case.
If you book a multi-city leg under economy, a lot of the time you’ll get the bonus PE option pop up for any legs that feature it (I think this only happens if PE Sale fares are available though...).
Qantas makes this difficult because multi-fare itineraries can only generally be economy+premium economy or business class+first class, so if you are able to book economy on the outbound and business class on the return, the fare price may be unusually high.
However, you may be able to discuss your options with a good travel agent (or with Qantas over the phone), to see what's possible without breaking the bank, which would most likely be an economy + premium economy mix.

I get econ/business mixes is a different thing, but when they don’t have PE on all jets and between all cities I think they’re missing a trick. They exclude me from my price point and force me to consider other carriers.

No ME3 carrier has PE (yet) - so I daresay QF won’t be overly motivated to provide PE all major international ports anytime soon.

Oh I agree, especially on the PER-SIN 737! But why do they actively prevent people buying PE if it’s actually on the plane.
