I am flying Singapore Air from Sydney to Singapore, Sapporo, Osaka and back through Singapore.

I will have access to the Sydney and Singapore Krisflyer Silver Lounge as a VA Gold member. I understand I can bring one guest in, I am flying with my wife (VA Red) and 2.5 year old toddler.

My question is given my toddler is 2.5, how strict is admission criteria and if required, do you know how much they will charge for an additional guest to access the lounge?

If you fly economy I dont think you can access the Singapore Changi airport Krisflyer Silver lounge. They'll ask you to go to the GOLD Krisflyer lounge which is very basic and not worth the time (as a VA Gold).

I am on the same boat and I am looking at priority pass lounges instead as some of them are actually better than the basic Gold Krisflyer Lounge.

Thankyou, I just checked and yes in Singapore it is the Krisflyer Gold Lounge and in Sydney the Silver Kris Lounge. It seems Singapore is like Etihad at its home port - give you the worst lounge at its hub. 4 years ago I flew Eithad economy and was VA Gold and was able to go into the Etihad First Lounge in Sydney and London - was a fantastic experience. When I was in Abu Dhabi - the lounge was one of the general serviced lounges and very basic!

EY provide VA Platinums with access to the First & Business Lounge in AUH though.

SQ are a bit like QR, they only provide access to the SIN SilverKris (Business & First) lounge to customers in Business or First/Suites, though they are more generous because passengers in J & F on Star Alliance flights can also use the SKL.

The VA International Lounge guide will tell you if your toddler is considered a guest or not. You can't purchase entry into the KFG lounge but you can pay into the Ambassador Lounge in T3 (though it's really not worth it).

The VA international lounge guide says that a toddler is a guest (greater than 2 years) - will just have to see how it goes and have a back up plan if I can only go in with my toddler!

In my experience they willare be lenient given that u are allowed one guest and theyit probably won't be so harahdedicated as to deny a toddler access to the lounge. I went to air new zealand lounge with my 5 year old and wife and even though they said no, they asked for my boarding pass and ended up letting us in.

Agreed 100%. The gold lounge is woeful, always full and lacks variety or comfort. You only have access to the silverkris lounge if you are travelling business or first or if you are PPS. If travelling economy you cant enter. Head up stairs once through customs and relax at the dnata lounge kids under 6 are free. The ambassador lounge is also quite good and kids under 6 are free. In terminal 3 you have a few options. My preference is the dnata lounge. both have showers, wi fi, alcohol etc.
