Yes, have used fly-ahead and it’s great. You need to be at the airport to request it on the day of travel (unless you’re Platinum, in which case you can call). Depending on destination you can request a flight up to 2 hours prior to your booked flight or the flight immediately prior to your booked flight.
as long as you are on an elevate fair or above its fine. I use it on my east coast flights frequently. Will always book a 6pm flight and usually end up on a 4 or 5pm.. only problem is usually you end up in a less desirable seat than my usual 3A or 3F
Have used it many times, it's great. Any fare but Getaway, just ask at a service desk. Can also call ahead of the airport if you're platinum.
Just curious. If on a getaway fare, any chance they'd let you fly-ahead?
I've been allowed once since the rule changes around Getaway fares a couple of years back. I thought it was because I was being nice and a platinum, I later found out it's because they were oversold LOL.
Prior to that, I used to book the cheap as chips 9pm fare, turn up to the airport at 8am and get on a 9am... was the best trick in the book. Probably why they changed the rules :-)

My flight on Mondy departs at 8 and I want to move it up to 7. Have you guys tried the fly ahead feature? How early can you push the flight?

That's exactly why they changed the rules!
