I've got an upcoming trip in Premium Economy to Hong Kong on 29th June 2019 and noticed on expertflyer it is the only day between April and October that is scheduled to be on the 747 instead of the 787 and am interested to know if anyone knows why this is?
In any case I'm happy to get a trip on the 747 before it's retired - and from the reviews the PE seat on the 747 will be better than the 787

I wouldn't get too excited. This far out, there is a good chance it will change.

Could be due to school holidays which start on that Saturday. The 747 has greater capacity compared to the 787.

It is also possible that the 787 has been scheduled for a different flight.

I wonder if the 747 is heading to HK for maintenance. Is the return flight on the 747 as well?

Yeah you might be right regarding maintenance, the QF128 return on the 29th June is showing as a 787
