Singapore Airlines reward availablity for Velocity members

Hi all,

I've noticed that the SQ availability on VA website is quite weird. E.g. SQ218 would only show if I search MEL-KUL (via SIN). But if I search MEL-SIN directly, this SQ218 will not show. Also, something like MEL-BKK via SIN will not show, but if I search MEL-SIN and SIN-BKK, both sectors would come up. Any solution to this besides giving VA a call?

They may be married segments for the MEL-KUL one. For the MEL - BKK, it could be that Virgin's own website is not very good at showing connections. Calling Virgin could open up the married segments and allow you to just redeem the MEL-SIN leg but that depends on the agent and their abilities (definitely a case of HUCA)
