Recently had a flight with cathayâs new menu and service on their A350k. I had the beef burger and have to say it was the best meal Iâve had in the air (Iâve had plenty of first experiences) it was delicious.
I must say the food in the Wing first class lounge in HK was also exceptional. The duck confit was as good as you can get. The Qantas Sydney first class lounge has serious competition.
Flew Sydney-Vancouver Christmas Eve in Y (with family) and whilst the overall experience was adequate-satisfactory, the midflight meat pie snack was the best ever in flight food. Was more like a home made dish, with less pastry, more meat, mushroom, bacon etc. Simply Sensational. Squeezed in some of my daughters leftovers too. Great complement to the Barra and squid in the first lounge prior to departure.
Not sure of the the mfg but hope to see the pie as a late afternoon snack on the Syd-Mel-Bri triangle soon.
I rate the CX burger very highly, the BA one is pretty good too. Surprised Qantas hasn't done an amazing Aussie burger at least for Jan26 at the First lounge or as sliders in the Business lounges complete with beetroot!

I'm surprised too given the Neil Perry based affiliation and his chain of burger restaurant.
I'd say the Flagship AA lounge's cheeseberger is pretty good too!
I haven't had the burger in the Flagship lounge, but as far as in flight goes, the CX burger beats the socks off the AA sliders. They're not anywhere near the same league!

Yes, that would have made perfect sense for Qantas & Neil Perry!
