Does anyone know of any reasons/perks to choose IHG Priority Club over Hilton Hhonors? Anyone experienced better service or perks, especially at the higher (platinum) levels. I am currently Gold PP.
For what it's worth, I'd simply choose the chain with which you expect to stay the most. I opted for IHG Platinum as a perk of Velocity Platinum, and each time I've stayed there I've enjoyed an upgrade, although the Hilton Honors perks are a lot better, such as access to executive floor lounge even if executive room is unavailable, and "alternatively instead of room upgrade, 1,000 extra points per stay".
If you reckon you'll have the choice of a Hilton or IHG property on your travels, then all else being equal the Hilton perks are better.
If you're picking a Velocity perk? I'd go with HHonors Diamond. IHG will give you a status match to Platinum until the end of December if you ask them nicely, but as far as I can tell, you can't do it the other way around.

Sally J, in case you're pondering which to join based on the choice offered as a Virgin Australia Velocity frequent flyer, we put together an article on this a while back which looks at what you get as Gold and Platinum in both programs: http://www.ausbt.com.au/virgin-australia-frequent-flyers-now-get-hotel-room-upgrades
